A strong season came to a close with a disappointing finish in the Region IX Championship for the Northwest College men’s soccer team, as the Trappers fell to Otero College 4-1 in Colorado on Sunday.

NWC MEN ADVANCE TO FINAL

A closely contested Region IX semifinal was separated by the finest of margins on Friday night, as the Northwest College men’s soccer team earned the 1-0 win over Casper College on the road behind a second half free kick from Jake Coltart to earn a trip to the Region IX final.

TRAPPERS CRUISE PAST WESTERN NEBRASKA

The Northwest College men’s soccer team came out on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline in the opening round of the Region IX tournament, using two goals in a minute to push past Western Nebraska Community College on Saturday.

Losing consecutive games for the first time this season has put the Northwest College men’s soccer team below .500 in Region IX action, as the Trappers fell on the road to Central Wyoming College 4-2 on Saturday.

MEN'S SOCCER WINS WAY TO THREE SEED

The Northwest College men’s soccer team continued its unbeaten run in October, using a 3-1 win over Lamar Community College and a 1-0 win over Northeastern Community College to secure the No. 3 seed in the postseason tournament with a little help from a pair of Central Wyoming losses.

NWC MEN'S HOME WIN STREAK SNAPPED

The Northwest College men’s soccer team split a pair of Region IX contests at home after a long roadtrip, defeating Gillette College 2-0 before a difficult 6-1 loss to Casper College snapped a regular season home conference unbeaten streak dating back to October 2022.

The Northwest College men’s soccer team split a pair of games on a difficult road trip, losing 5-1 to Otero College on Friday before rebounding for a 3-0 win on Saturday against Trinidad State College.

Playing at home for the first time in the regular season, the Northwest College men’s soccer team extended its winning streak to four matches, defeating Central Wyoming College 4-1 on Saturday.

Axel Lopez and the Trappers continued to battle in physical contests to earn a national ranking this week.

MEN'S SOCCER CONTINUES HOT START

Two more wins on the road including another over a ranked team moved the Northwest College men’s soccer team to 3-1 after August, using an 8-0 win over Pacific Northwest Christian College and a 1-0 win over ranked North Idaho College to catapult to No. 13 in the nation.

STARTING STRONG: TRAPPER MEN SPLIT RAKED ROAD CONTESTS

August 28, 2025

The Northwest College men’s soccer team continues to wade through tough competition, as the Trappers took on two ranked opponents on the road in Utah on Thursday and Saturday. A late goal from No. 17-ranked Snow College prevented the Trappers from coming home unbeaten in a 2-1 loss before Northwest took down No. 9 ranked Salt Lake Community College 1-0.

TRAPPER MEN SCRAPPY IN SCRIMMAGES

August 21, 2025

Friendly preseason scrimmages were anything but friendly for the Northwest College men’s soccer team, as the Trappers defeated Carroll College 2-1 Thursday, drew with the University of Providence 1-1 on Friday before losing 5-4 to Rocky Mountain College on Sunday.

The Northwest College soccer teams welcomed local area youth to an August camp, allowing the recruits to interact with local players and help create new fans for the Trappers.

MEN'S SOCCER RAISES INTENSITY

August 12, 2025

A disappointing quarterfinal shootout loss at home last season has stuck in the minds of the Northwest College men’s soccer players, as they return to the field with a number of players from last year’s team ready to make a stronger postseason push.

Northwest College athletes enjoyed a number of academic honors following strong seasons of competition. All six programs made the All-Academic teams and 52 individual athletes while the volleyball team finished second in the nation.

TRAPPER ATHLETICS DOMINATE ACADEMIC HONORS

July 31, 2025

Strong performances on the court were backed by strong performances in the classroom for Northwest College athletics, as all six teams made the All-Academic team list with cumulative team GPAs over 3.0, and 52 athletes were named individually to the All-Academic honors list.
